突然间感到很害怕。
突然间感到很绝望。
突然间感到很无能为力。
突然间感到很没用。
仿佛迷失了方向。
仿佛做错了什么。
不知道该怎么做。
不知道可以做什么。
啊 !!
救命啊!!

“Memory is such an amazing yet frightening abstract being.
Beautiful it sometimes is; ugly and sad it otherwise is.
Regardless of it all, it’s a miracle and God’s gift to Man.
Not only is it part of our identity, it moulds our character.
Let it smile! Let it laugh! For all things precious are meant to be kept.
Forever.”

In a blink of the eye, float is over and done with. 2 months of hard work, 8 weeks of sweat and laughter. I’m still amazed at how we managed to do it. Yup! We finished the float! An amazing feat, even I do say so myself. Even 3 days prior to Rag day, I was having doubts, but as all the seniors have been saying to me, ‘Don’t worry, miracles always happen on the last day’. And true to their words, a miracle did happen.

Well done, Raffles Hall. Together with the other residents, we managed to complete our float this year to the praises of many! A round of applause to all. A job well done! After pouring our heart and soul into ‘Eden’s Symphony’ for the past 2 months, it’s really heartwarming to see the entire float up and running. One cannot help but gaze in satisfaction and joy.

After the stunning performance put up by the dancers, the sense of euphoria and completion can hardly be described. Everyone hugged and embraced one another. The float head could hardly hold back his tears, and the same goes for every other floater. It was the moment everyone worked hard for, and sadly, it is over in 7 minutes.

While every other floater was tearing, she was simple stoning. Still stuck in Limbo, I guess. No, that’s probably not the reason. It was probably because it felt incomplete, and probably because she dreaded what is going to happen next. Or perhaps it all ended too quickly for her to comprehend.

Next up, the results. Suddenly, everyone’s heart stopped. She looked at Jas, and the same expression was returned. She smiled, and he smiled. Whatever, no matter, it should not really affect how they are feeling now. One by one the results were announced. Slowly, their hopes dwindled. Towards the end, everyone knew what was coming. It was sad, but it was also the truth.

I guess everyone was trying not to shed a tear, but once someone started, everyone else simply could not hold back anymore. It was sad, no doubt. It was disappointing, no doubt. And no doubt, everyone will say, it matters not if we won anything, what matters most is if we have achieved what we set out to achieve. Yup, I do agree with that, but one can’t help but crave for affirmation; confirmation; accreditation.

The amount of hours put into float can hardly be imagined. The amount of sacrifices given, the amount of sleep forgone, the amount of emotions invested, and the amount of perspiration shed is simply a testimony of how much time and efforts were injected into Eden’s Symphony. Well done, floaters!

I guess, the more we gave to float, the higher our expectations climbed. And the higher our expectations climbed, the harder we fell towards the end. It was baffling and disheartening, and to say that we were upset is an understatement. I guess everyone felt that we could have done better. Or perhaps a few of us felt that though we have invested much effort, it still seemed as though it was not enough.

Nevertheless, despite it all, I am proud of RH float team! Perhaps one reason why she worked so hard throughout the 2 weeks was because of the faith she had in the team, and she is now proud to say that her faith has not been placed wrongly. Well done! Congratulations to all, for everyone did say that we did well. ‘Hall float is in a different league from faculty’s’ as her friend commented. So fret not, for I’m sure next year will be OUR year!

On a side note, Pharmacy won twice! Wow! Nice one, pharmers! Always knew that they could do it! ^.^ Congratulations! All their efforts have indeed paid off. Their float this year is simply breath-taking. Last year’s float simply pales in comparison to this year’s. They have indeed achieved their goal. Now, no one will laugh at us! No one will say, pharmacy is only a back drop. No one shall mock us now! Well done, guys!

Thought she wasn’t part of their team, she was still happy for them. The look of satisfaction and joy on their faces as they jumped up and down screaming is simply priceless.

Although many asked her if she regretted joining hall float instead of pharmacy float now that pharmacy float won 2 categories, she would smile and shake her head. Hall float has given her so much more, and if time were to re-start from 4 months ago, she would still have chosen hall float. Hall float is a platform unlike that of faculty float and it’s really unjustifiable for me to pen down the difference. Let’s just say that hall float has widened her horizons and taught her a few things which faculty float might not be able to. To find out, join hall float! Haha

Lastly, I would really have to thank RHocers for cheering us on so madly and so wildly. Thanks a lot guys! And despite everything, you guys still cheered like crazy fans towards the end. Thanks thanks a lot!

A BIG thank you to fellow floaters for being there to support each other throughout the 2 months! Thanks thanks guys! You guys are a great bunch of people to hang out with! I am so glad I am in float!!

And hopefully, see you guys again in a few months! Haha!

And of course, how can I forget? RH cladding team is the best ever this year! Haha!

“I am not PEK CHEK!”
“ENK!”

Nice memories. Love the times we screamed together and laughed our heads off after.
Thanks guys!

And to that someone who looked after me throughout:

A BIG THANK YOU. ^.^

10th August 2008 – An unforgettable day as well.

Hooray! Happy birthday to me! ^.^

It’s a bit sad to hit the big 2, but nonetheless, time does not stop and definitely leaves no Man behind.

Once again, I ask for the same things, and pray that Father would grant me this not-so-tiny wish. ^.^

Thanks to all who celebrated my birthday with me!

Thank you, Yuko, Sam, Weijian, and Liren! I really didn’t expect you guys, and I seriously thought it was a blackout. Haha! Thanks a lot!

Thank you, floaters! Never in my life would I have expected my birthday to be celebrated on a truck in the middle of nowhere! Nice one, guys! Thanks thanks!! ^.^

Lovely memories. I love my friends for they bestow onto me memories that are sugar-liciously sweet!!

School has started, and I miss block 5 girls terribly!! We are all so busy, we can’t even organize dinner! AH! Really miss them.

Life doesn’t feel the same without them. Really hope we will go for that dinner soon!! Yup yup! ^.^

So yeah, school has started, which means lessons have started as well. I did the most horrible thing this year by bidding for the wrong module.

AH! Yikes! Crap!

As such, even before the semester officially starts, I have basically screwed half of it up. Well done, Clara. Well done.

But never mind, thanks to someone, the matter is being cleared up at the moment. I hope. ^.^ Yup yup! Thanks thanks!

School has barely started, and I am already lost in lectures. I know not what the professors are chanting about. As their voices drone on and on, they seem to be reciting the lullaby scriptures under their breaths – putting everyone to sleep. And I’m not joking. Literally everyone seated around me is asleep in lectures. Or perhaps it just so happens that I sit next to people who sleep in class. Oh wells.

The main point is - I’m lost among my notes. AH! Haha. I shall have to clear my doubts soon before they pile up like last semester! No! None of those thoughts now. School has just started! =P

Jiayou, Clara! You can do it! ^.^ A repeat of last semester shall not happen! I hope. ^.^ Ganbatte!

Through float, I have indeed learnt a lot of things. I have experienced what I totally disapprove of, but nonetheless I know that this is what society is like. Stereotypical mindsets are hard to change, especially when they are set by society – approved by the majority. True, no doubt, I disagree with what is happening around me, but I guess what is happening has its benefits too!

Think positive, and everything will look good again! Yes! ^.^ I simply love the experience float has gave me. It has led me to treasure more of all that I have, and has indeed widened my exposure, especially in terms of the varied kind of people one will meet outside. Working with people can be fun, taxing, thrilling, but scary sometimes. Then again, working alone is nothing but boring, mundane, and sad. Haha!

^.^ Next year’s float team, all the best!

Rather scared.
Unsure.
Confused.

Lost.
Uncertain.
Frightened.

“It’s alright to feel lost once in a while.
It’s alright to lose your way once in a while.
It’s alright to feel scared once in a while.
It’s alright to feel frightened once in a while.

Soon, you’ll pick yourself up again.
Soon, you’ll find your way back again.
Soon, someone will reach out, and help.
Soon, you’ll regain the confidence you lost.

Soon.
Soon.”
