Goodness! I can't believe that I fell sick!! It's been YEARS since I last fell so sick! I mean, really sick. It was so sudden and horrible! I had to cancel all the activites I've placed on that day! SAD SAD SAD!!

It all started out at night. I could feel that a sore throat was eminent. Thus, I drank loads and loads of water and went to bed early. I went to bed at 11pm!! So early!

At 1 a.m., I woke up feeling so hot! Cannot stand it! Super hot!! Plus, I was sleeping in my parent's room with the air conditioning system switched on. Still, I felt hot! ARGH! That's when I knew I must be having fever. =.=|| Then, I thought, never mind, just go back to sleep and in the morning I'll be finer than fine!

I tossed and I turned. I just can't seem to sleep! It was suddenly hot, then suddenly cold. Stupid body can't seem to decide whether its feeling hot or cold. So I gave up trying to sleep 'cause I was getting more and more frustrated by the second at not being able to sleep and for feeling so terrible!

Haha.. Then silly 'ole me went to watch DVD until around 2:30 a.m. in another room which was so so stuffy. This time I'm comfirmed hot, and not cold. However, at 2:30 a.m., I figured it was getting late, and decided to head to my room to try and catch those much needed winks of sleep.

Anyway, I just felt hot through out the entire night. When I switched on the fan, I felt cold. =.=|| I have no idea what my body was trying to say. Soon, I gave up and tried to sleep on the floor. Crap! After an hour, I went back onto the bed. Haha.. In all, I would say I didn't sleep at all.

Sian.. Anyway, it was a horrible night. I was aching all over the next morning, but the fever raged on! =.= So, no choice, I had to sms my collegues early in the morning to tell them I couldn't make it. So sad! I've waited for this day since my last day at work! -sobs sobs-

Haiz, I just continued burning for the rest of the day. Didn't eat anything at all 'cause really no appetite. Just felt really hot, and of course, headache as well. Probably 'cause of the heat. And yeah, aching ALL OVER! Gosh, I am so OLD!! T.T Throughout the day, I perspired alot! But the fever refuses to go down! ARGH! Body getting old, can't recover as quickly! Sad. Getting sick is no fun.

Anyway, I thought if I'm still burning tomorrow, better go see a doctor. Haha, and I didn't even tell my parents. When my dad came back, we ate dinner, then I went to the room and fiddled with the computer, praying hard that tomorrow I'll be better.

Haha.. the next day, I woke up soaked in perspiration, but I realised that I was cured! YAY!! I was so happy! 'cause then I wouldn't need to sms another lot of ppl saying I can't make it. Hee!!

I am so proud of my antibodies! =D Actually, in retrospect, I think I was quite stupid. I could have taken panadol. =.=|| Then maybe I would have recovered even earlier and I would not have gone on burning for more than 24 hours.!! Think after this ordeal I will be even more stupid then before!!! Imagine the number of brain cells that have died due to the heat!! ARGH!! Poor head. HAha.

Still, I am so proud of my immune system and of course my bone marrow for producing such fine white blood cells, specifically the lymphocytes, which in turn churn out such powerful antibodies!

Eh, I'm getting confused. Is it lymphocytes? Then what of the monocytes? Is there such thing as a monocyte? What 'bout granulocytes? Drats. Do lymphocytes orginate from the bone narrow? Or the lymph nodes? Or do they travel to the lymph nodes from the bone marrow? Ahhh.. The first signs of a failing mind!! Better read my Bio notes again. HEe..

The Zoo.

It was a day unlike another,
Laced with such sweet weather.
It started out at a faraway station,
Where everyone bustled towards their occupation.

10 o'clock ok? so stated the message,
But we never did register the word late.
Early we were, much to each other's surprise,
But the crowd! it was definitely a my, oh my!

Little kids, barely the height of our waist,
Could not stand the long, long wait.
Running here and running there,
They seem to be everywhere.

Walking through the grand entrance,
We were overwhelmed and truly entranced.
The place is huge! Enormous! STUPENDOUS!
Without a map on hand, we felt oh so powerless.

Grasping a map and a GREAT sense of direction,
We ventured fearlessly on.
Equipped with curiosity and inquisition.
We prayed hard that we wouldn't get lost.

Let's turn here!
No, we should turn to the left!
ALAMAK! why are we back here?!
Oh dear oh dear..

Just kidding, it was nothing of that sort.
We trekked, we saw, we oohed, and we aahed.
KACHA! went the camera and captured the lot,
the poor poor animals, all they could see were stars.

Finally!! It's that time of the day!
They jumped and they snatched, screaming, don't play play!
They gnawed on the food and went GRRR...
Never ever mess with me, dear sir.

The yellow jaguars were a lively bunch,
but where oh where does the black one hunts?
Craning our necks we did attempt,
but all we saw was a little lamb?

We touched it's head,
And snapped its picture.
But the fierce one soon came,
And scared away the visitors.

The lion roared in the distant.
Was that the lion or the thunder?
I don't care, it is the lion!
But he says it's the thunder!!

True to his words, it started drizzling.
True to my words, the lion went missing.
Where oh where did the lion go?
The weather is turning cold.

Luck was on our side as we saw a runaway monkey,
Hiding high up among the trees seemingly trying to peep.
The zoo keepers were perplexed and hapless,
but no matter how they cooed, it just seems useless.

Soon, our stomachs started to complain and whine,
But there wasn't really anywhere to dine.
Thus, we settled for the ever simple ice cream,
The sweetest, coolest food one can ever dream.

I'm tired, I don't wanna write anymore.
I feel like walking out that bedroom door.
Nevertheless I shall complete my task,
I shall make the zoo sound like a blast.

We heard that it was the best,
Therefore we rushed for the animal show.
Wet though the seats were, we couldn't care less.
All we want is for the show to roll.

We rushed from show to show,
And the weather got really hot.
But the shows were fascinating!
Captivating, spellbinding and intriguing!

After the shows, we glanced at our watch.
It was late, it was time to go.
Slowly, we trod out of the zoo.
Weariness written all over our faces.

Thus we made our way back,
To the very point where we started.
We went our separate ways,
And that, was a wonderful day at the zoo.
