A day in Muar

My mum's hometown is Muar and so it came at no surprise when my mum announced that we would be making a trip down to Muar that weekend. Knowing that baby loved all things old and rustic, I decided to ask baby if he would like to go as well - I needn't have to anyway as my dad already had plans for him to tag along. Hehe!! Already part of the family, he is.

We decided to make the day trip to Muar on a Sunday as my mum's initial plans were to head there for her school's alumni dinner!!! We took 2-3 hours of drive to get there. I'm sure baby will think three, or may four, ten, a thousand times again before agreeing on a road trip into Malaysia the next time. Haha!! Baby just can't stand long journeys!!'poor baby! Which reminds me.. travelling with him in future is gonna be tricky..

Upon arriving at Muar, it was lunch time! Yummy yummy!! Street food at Muar is as authentic as its gonna get!!

Awesome looking aren't they?? They taste as good as they look!!

:)  Loved the texture of the noodles. It's not that starchy, but yet not the soft either. It had that bit of crunch. What makes those street food all the more delicious was the fact that my mum ate along the exact same street when she as young!! How cool is that?!

That's the group!! Eating street food by the road. I guess hygiene would be a cause of concern, but heck! My mummy ate those food twenty years ago and nothing happened. If anything, it probably boosted her immune system!!

That's us!! :)

Street pictures after lunch!! :) Cool pics! I love the telephone booth as you seldom get to see them in Singapore nowadays.

More street photos!! :)

Therafter, it's off to my mum's secondsry school. Here's and interesting trivia. Both my mum's school and mine require us to manually pin on 7 metallic buttons in the morning! Both of our uniforms are white in the exact same design and both of our secondary school has the upside down triangle as part of the school badge!! Coincidence or just plain freaky?!

Dinner time is purely for my mummy to socialise with ex classmates. It is terribly, terribly boring for us!!

But before dinner, its time to change to somethng nicer!! I forgot to mention that we attended a funeral of a grand uncle of mine prior to entering Malaysia hence we were wearing rather plain and casual clothing!

And transform!! :)

Mummy's friend had 2 adorable dogs! We couldn't resist taking pictures of them, and maybe partly because we were bored as well, I guess.

But but but . They ARE cute, aren't they?! Dogs drool though, so I will definitely not be keeping them in future. :P

A huge dedication to baby because he took so many pictures of me that day. It's rather rare okies?! Baby is so so so so adorable!! Look at him... XD awwwww.....

And it's off to dinner!!

That's being absolutely bored out of our minds during dinner. All we did was eat, and eat, and eat, and eat, and eat.. Well, you get the point.

Here's the finale!

That's the end of our Muar trip. What awaits us after is a super long ride back to Singapore, and it is work the next day! Monday blues! :(

YouTube Concert and Butterfactory

Gonna blog using my iPad!! How awesome is that? That's making full use of the iPad!

The very day I got my new iPad thanks to my awesome, and ice-creamliciously sweet baby, was the day I went for my very first outdoor concert - the YouTube concert!!! I never really went for a concert before (piano recitals and school performances don't count), much less a standing concert such as the one we went!! The crowd was absolutely livid! Now I know why I have never been to a concert like that. I totally can't imagine myself being one of those among the crowd, squeezing their way in front, screaming their hearts out as each singer took the stage.

Thank you Kah Woon for driving us there!! Wheeeee!!

Everyone having such a wonderful time at the concert with Kah Woon attempting to show us his giraffe shirt. Haha!! Look how sweaty we are. The weather was incredulously humid, so I guess having an outdoor concert in Singapore isn't the most fantastic idea.

On a side note, I still love Tiffany Alvord! And I got introduced to David choi. His songs are really nice! I love missing piece and my girl. Very sweet and soothing. :)

Thereafter, it's off to butter factory!!

A picturesque view just across butter factory!! No choice. I couldn't resist. Every couple to take a shot! XD awwwwww.

And of course, a whole picture dedicated to US! Just US! Mwuahhahaha! My skin is strangely thick today. XD Baby just had to wear jeans and T-shirt to club. He is so adorable!!

Kah Woon was resourceful enough to get us VIP passes so we need not wait long, but girls being girls, we had time to cam whore anyway  :)

And we are in! Look at those happy faces. Our first time clubbing together. :)

And the rest, I shall leave it up to your imagination. XD hehe!

A day with Lots and Brotzeit

Lot's Gormet is a hidden gem, tucked nicely at the corner of Loyang ave., just directly opposite the women's prison in Changi! :) It serves breakfast till 3pm on Saturday and Sunday - simply perfect for brunch!

We ordered the eggs benedict and blueberry pancakes! The holandaise sauce for the eggs benedict is definitely better than that of wild honey's! Unlike wild honey, for one, it isn't sweet. For two, it did not fast out of place. It blended perfectly with the nice gooey yolk! :)

The blueberry pancakes were amazing! Seeing that I haven't tasted any other blueberry pancakes before, I do not really have a basis of comparison, trust me - these pancakes were good! I was surprised when the blueberries burst in my mouth releasing its juicy sweetness! The pancakes were not too thick either so you don't get sick of it after awhile.

The sautéed mushrooms were delicious! I like it how the taste of the mushrooms isn't overwhelming and yet it is tasty enough such that you will want another, and another, and another.. XD mmmm! And the end of the awesome breakfast, it's a cup of nice hot mocha! Baby found it too thick and couldn't really finish his cup which is saying a lot seeing that he hates to waste food, but I loved mine! I loved how it was so thick that it forces you to sip it slowly - sort of like asking you to slow down and enjoy this rare moment of tranquility for a little, instead of drowning down the cup and rushing off somewhere else. :)

Awesome end to the day with dinner at Brozeit! Just look at those juicy sausages. Mmmm! Yummy! Simply loved the cheese sausages. The chees squirts out of the sausages and fills your entire mouth! It isn't like those weak cheese sausages where the taste of the cheese is transient and fleeting. Brozeit's cheese sausages lingers in your mouth and delivers such satisfaction that it is very well worth it's price.
