"There are no mistakes, save one:
the failure to learn from a mistake."

"Wow! It's really dark. I've never left school so late before," her friend said as her voice quivered with a tinge of fear.

"Come on, this hallway is scary. Can't they turn on the lights or something?" continued her friend as she quickened her footsteps.

They walked on in silence through the deserted and dark hallway. The only source of light were behind and infront of them. Despite the creepiness of the situation, she did not feel intimidated at all. Instead, she laughed and walked on with her friend. Feeling glad that she did not have to be home so early. Feeling glad that she could waste more time outside, instead of couped up at home. So glad that it was nightfall. Yet another day has drifted by.

3 weeks ago, she stayed to wait for something. Now, she stayed to prevent from thinking.

---------------

Despair comes knocking.
Wading in quick sand.
Sinking.
sinking.
No branches for support.
No leaves for comfort.
Just sinking.
sinking.
The sky remains overcast.
The wind reduced to a whisper.
All eyes on are on her
as she sinks deeper
and deeper.
Just sinking.

Reaction of oxides with water. Right, sodium oxide and magnesium oxide have a giant ionic structure. Sodium oxide is soluble in water whereas magnesium oxide is sparingly soluble..

Frantically trying to swallow the entire chemistry file, but to no avail. It was a futile attempt. Perhaps she should just burn everything and drink up. Like a talisman. Next to her, sat a couple, presumably also taking their As this year. They are sooooo distracting!!

One moment, the guy would hug the girl, the next, he would be snuggling close to her, rubbing his nose against her neck. He even helped the girl blow her nose, and tie her hair!! It gives 'her' the goosebumps just looking at the scene from the corner of her eyes. Thank goodness the guy exchanged place with the girl. She shudders to think how uncomfortable she would feel if the guy sat next to her, doing all those mushy stuffs. Worse, stupid thoughts filtered into her brain.

NO!! DON'T THINK! STUDY!!

Ok, it would be alright if they did it somewhere else, but not in the library! Maybe, if the guy did not overdo it, it would have been tolerable. She is not against public display of affections, just that sometimes, it does cause a wave of uneasiness to those around. Like, if you see your friends behaving real "mushy-ly", won't you feel weird too? Perhaps she is the one that is weird.

Mummy returned on Friday!! YAY! Finally, the first hug she receive since her birthday!!

This time, Mummy went to Hong Kong and bought back lots of goodies! Yummy yummy! Nice nice. Mummy is the best!

Mummy rented a VCD and ended up watching it together with her through the night! In the end, she slept in her mummy's room despite daddy chasing her away. Daddy went to Batam that very day too!! So he was pretty wiped out by the end of the day. Thank goodness! That way, he didn't have much energy left to argue when she slept in their room.

It felt good to sleep with Mummy! Sadly, she left on Monday. So fast. She was here for barely a week. Wait, it was only 4 days! Not even 4, in fact. No more hugs until after Prelims? Why?!
How can!

---------------

"Excuse me! Excuse Me!" squeaked someone from up ahead.

Without warning, a black thingy flew out from the door just before the door closed, and hit a guy on the back. The guy turned and looked wildly behind him, wondering what hit him. Thankfully, there was a nice aunty next to him, and pointed to the black thingy lying on the floor.

His eyes widened in shock and his hands flew to his butt. Eh, no lump! he thought fratically. He bent down and retrieved his wallet from the ground, grinning sheepishly. It was his wallet.

Funny!! Maybe not the way she described it, but it was funny then. Or perhaps, it's because nothing interesting has happened, and this became the highlight.

--------------

Dreaming of something when suddenly the whole bed vibrated! Her eyes snapped open in alarm and her hands immediately reached out for her phone. Who would be calling so early in the morning? It was barely 7:30 am.

Her gaze shifted to her handphone and her heart skipped a beat. On the display, it read,"TJC Ext: 44" Her school calling her? What has she done? Tentatively, she slid her phone up and answered the call.

"Good Morning, May I speak to Clara, please?" came the voice from the other end.

"Yes?" she answered, a little uncertain.

"Hi Clara, Mrs Chua here!...."

Phew! It was only Mrs Chua. That was so scary. For a moment, she thought she must have done something to actually warrant a call from the school! Whoa! That would really be terrible.

---------------

Why must everything happen just when Prelims come knocking on the door? Why didn't everything happen earlier? Why now? Why, just a month before the start of the prelims, everything has to happen?
Why?! Why? WHY!?

Mrs Chua used to say,"I don't know why, but couples love to break up during Prelims."

How apt. The essence of the quote was in how things always happen around Prelims, NOT the breakup. What has a breakup got to do with her, anyway.

This is ridiculous. This should never have happened. It's all her fault. HER FAULT!!
Idiot. She is an idiot.
Stupid, stupid, STUPID!!

Anyhow, this must be insignificant to you readers out there, so I shall not elaborate. In short, she has now walked into the middle of the valley of misery, and finding it difficult to leave.

--------------

Getting old. Her body seems to be failing her. Any injuries incurred during a fall now takes a horribly long time to heal. This is irritating, what with the prelims just around the corner too. Of all places to hurt, she just has to hurt her hand! And to make everything worse, it just has to be her right hand. Her writing hand.

Like I said earlier. Everything just has to happen when the Prelims are abound. This happened one week before the above incident though. That's nearly a month ago! It hurts everytime she writes now. ARGH! Everything is against her. Nothing is going right.
NOTHING!

"If you get there before I do,
don't give up on me.
I'll meet you when my chores are through;
I don't know how long I'll be.
But I'm not gonna let you down,

And between now and then,
till I see you again,
I'll be loving you.

SCHOOL'S OUT!!

Finally, she can have more than 4 hours of sleep each day!! Yes!! No more panda eyes!

---------------

"Everyone, please proceed to the grass area, we have a special treat for you before our celebration!" A voice rang out from the crowd. Lessons were over. It was the last day of school for the term. Everyone was happy.

"Okay, before we begin, let me make a brief introduction. What we will be doing is to place a tube of mentos into this bottle of coke. Please do not stand too close, we shall being shortly," xXx said matter-of-factly, acting out the part of a VERY serious compere.

The tube of mentos was balanced over the bottle of coke with a sheet of paper separating the mentos and the coke. Everyone held their breath and they looked on.

"1, 2, 3!"

The sheet of paper was removed and the mentos fell into the coke. Effervescence foamed at the mouth of the coke, but atlas, the desired effect was not obtained. Disappointments were written on faces of some of the people, her included.

"Mrs Chua, quick explain what happened!" her friend asked enthusiastically to divert the attention from the failed experiment to their beloved teacher. Their teacher was smilling and the shocked expression on her face was apparent.

"This is a really interesting display. I think it's due to a chemical reaction between the mentos and the coke. The mentos must contain some..." and her teacher went on to a lengthy explaination which made no sense what-so-ever, but everyone applauded her all the same. Everyone was really 'high', laughing and making lots of noise and the marquee.

"Mrs Chua, here's our first surprise for you!"

With that, a box was presented to her, and within it, a bouquet of a wide assortment of flowers lay, with a teacher's day card and her present inside. Mrs Chua beamed and slowly lifted the flowers, cradling it in her arms.

"Mrs Chua look here!!"

Soon, everyone was eager to take a picture of Mrs Chua. For today, she shall be the exclusive guest of honour and I bet she is enjoying every single moment of it!

"For our second surprise, we have xXx's present for you!"

"Mrs Chua, this is just a little something from me. I wrote it myself!" xXx said as he presented the present. It was a calligraphy scroll, with 8 chinese words written on it. She would love to write that here, but it's chinese. Anyhow, it looked really elegant and high class! You know those kind of calligraphy writing that the ancient China people used to hang in their houses? It looked better than those!!

"Wait, we still have a third surprise!"

Another gift was presented to her. It was a lovely shirt. Beautiful! The shirt really suits her. It was definitely her type and it was of the right size too!! She looked really cute in it!!

"Let's take a class picture!!"

With that, everyone huddled under the tree with Mrs Chua holding all her presents and beamed at the camera.

"Come on everyone, let's tuck in! It's already 3! Everyone must be famished right?"

"Wait!! We still have to wait for Mr Hse! He's coming!!"

And so they waited, making a hell of a noise while doing that as the camera snapped away at Mrs Chua.

"He's here!!"

"Wait wait!! Let's take group photos infront of our Pizzas and present!"

"NO! We have a surprise for Mr Hse too!"

Everyone fell silent and smiled.

"Mr Hse, here's a little something from our class."

He received a bottle of RED WINE, and of course, a teacher's day card.

"You can only drink that before you mark our papers okay? That way, you'll give us full marks!" chirped someone from the crowd. Everyone erupted into laughter.

"Okie! Let's take the pictures now!! Everyone!"

Everyone gathered behind the pizzas and presents and smiled.

Snap!

Snap!

Snap!

"Wait, there's still more!! Smile!!"

"Mrs Chua chio bu chio?" shouted someone from behind. [Is Mrs Chua pretty?]

"CHIO!" [Pretty!]

Snap!

"Mrs Hse yan bu yan dao?" [Is Mr Hse handsome?]

"YAN DAO!!" [Handsome!]

Snap!

"Pizza hao bu hao chi?" [Is the pizza tasty?]

"HAO CHI!!" [Tasty!]

Snap!

"Da jia er bu er!!" [Is everyone hungry?"

"ER!!" [Hungry!]

Snap!

"Okie, let's eat!!"

Everyone was famished. Quickly, each grabbed a piece and munched away as they chatted with the teachers. It was a lovely afternoon. Music boomed from the canteen, creating a really lively atmosphere. Smiles adorned all their faces and the heat of the afternoon did not dampen any of their spirits. Everyone was just super super 'high'!!

"How come you all didn't invite your biology teacher?" Mr Hse turned and directed the question at her.

"She has a form class too, and you didn't. So we invited you here!"
"Oh, so i'm a poor orphan la!" he said as he feigned a look of pity.

Peels of laughter resonated into the air.
Happy! Happy! Happy!

"Clara, can follow me opposite? I want to buy more mentos. I bu fu qi! How can the experiment fail?"

"Okie!" she said, laughing at the indignant look on her friend's face.

Within minutes, they ran across and returned, with beads of sweat lining their foreheads.

"Eveyone!! We have a grand finale!! Please gather at the grass area again!!"

Once again, the whole scene was re-enacted. A tube of mentos swayed precautiously atop a sheet of paper separating the mentos from the pepsi. This time, they were using the 1.5 litre of pepsi bottle. Everyone held their breath.

"1, 2, 3!"

The mentos fell into the pepsi. And, WOW! The pepsi shot up from the bottle, just as that of a fountain. It went really high. Wait, high is a bit of an understatement. Its maximum height was even taller than her! And if you've seen her, you'll know that she really isn't on the short side. The result was amazing. Everyone applauded with much vigour. It was truly an eye opener. One word. Awesome.

"Wait wait! Before everyone go, we have a last surprise. As you all know, bBb is going through a difficult phase, but as a class, not only will we share our joy, but we'll share one another's burden too. Together, with all the tutors and the class efforts, we have raised a small sum of money to ease bBb's finacial difficulty." With that little speech, our teacher handed bBb an envelope. He looked so touched that for a moment she thought he was going to shed a tear.

[The speech was of course longer, and even more touching than what was mentioned above, but she couldn't recall. Haha..]

---------------

What a day!! The end of term ended with a resounding bang! Teacher's day may have been celebrated a week earlier, but nevertheless, the efforts and sincerity invested in the celebration was evident. She will really miss everyone!!

Happy! Happy! Happy!

"So long as we are loved by others
I should say that
we are almost indispensable;
and no man is useless
while he has a friend."

-Robert Louis Stevenson-

---------------

"I used to sit up there, you know," her friend said as she pointed towards the top of the stairs.

"There? I didn't even know the stairs led to anywhere," she exclaimed, staring at where her friend pointed with amazement. "You mean to tell me, you always sit there alone?"

"Yeah, I like that place. No one ever goes there, so it's the perfect hideout," her friend replied with a shrug, before taking another bite out of her waffle.

They were taking five from their studies since her friend was hungry. She accompanied her friend to the hawker centre across the road where her friend bought a waffle, filled with delicious thick chocolate. Thereafter, they made their way back to school, and ended up there, at the staircase.

"But don't you have friends you hang out with?" she enquired, saddened that her friend could feel so isolated.

"I have lots of friends. Guess none are just really close to me," her friend said as she walked up the stairs.

She followed and sat next to her friend. They lapsed into silence as they sat there, staring out the window into the opposite block.

"Does any of your friends know about this place?" she turned suddenly, interupting the silence.

"Nope," her friend said, and took another bite.

"Okay," and she turned back to the window.

That's the biggest irony of life. Friends may be abundant, but who can say all are true to you? The more friends you have, the more distant you will be from your friends. There are so many different kinds of friends, all there for a purpose.

Some friends are nice to talk to, you can talk to them 24/7 and yet still not feel tired of them, but they will just remain as that. Friends that are nice to talk to.

Some friends are not really close to you, but once in awhile, they will be there for you to pour your sorrows into. They'll just sit there and listen, occasionally giving you some advice. After that, they'll feel distant to you again, but usually after these sessions, you know that you guys are closer.

Some friends are just hi-bye friends. You guys are only friends because you know each other. That's it.

Some friends are only your friends because their clique are not around. Once their clique returns, they'll flock back to them, but you guys will still talk, just not as much.

Some friends are only your friends because you have something beneficial to them. Once you are worthless, they'll be the first ones who leave your side. These are the fair-weathered friends, but they are still your friends.

Some friends are irritating. You wish you could just ask them to shut their trap, but you know you'll never do that. You wouldn't want to lose a friend.

Some friends are mean to you. They tease, and jeer at you, but deep down, they actually care for you alot.

Some friends you meet only once in awhile, yet you feel closer to them than to those you meet everyday.

Some friends are enjoyable as company. They make you laugh until you are in stitches. They kill the boredom out of everything, but you find it hard to be close to them. They are just that. Friends who are nice company.

Some friends seldom talk, but they know you inside out. You can sit with them for ages without uttering a word, but they'll know what you are thinking. They'll know how you are feeling.

Some friends are really nice. They do lots of things for you, and you will be thankful for such friends, but they are not the type of friends you bear your soul too. They are just nice friends to have.

Some friends are really close to you, where you can say anything under the sun to them, and yet they are still not angry at you. You may treat them like trash once in awhile during your mood swings, but they will still be there for you.

"Okay, i'm done! Let's go back now," her friend said as she stood up and beckoned her.

---------------

She was doing her work in the library when she felt as though she was being watched. She paused for awhile, and hesitated to continue, but then gave a shrug and blamed it on paranoia.

She wrote a sentence, when the feeling returned. She looked up and saw her friend watching her. Quickly, she returned her gaze to her work, and continued writing.

After 5 minutes, she still felt as though she was being watched. She looked up again. Her friend was watching her as she wrote.

"Why do you keep looking at me?" she asked, her curiosity aroused.

"I like being with you. You make me happy," her friend said, smiling.

A smile crawled onto her face.

"Just do you work," she said, once again returning to her work.

---------------

Everywhere else was pitched dark.
She looked up from her book and gazed at the clock.
3:00am.
She sighed. Why wasn't she feeling tired? She placed the book beside her bed and reached out to switch off the lamp. Immediately, she was plunged into darkness. It took her a few moments for her eyes to switch to night vision. Soon, the clock came into view again. She glanced towards her left. Only light sieved in from the street lamp outside. She closed her eyes.

She could feel herself sinking. She always knew when she would be sleeping. Soon, she would be dreaming. She was satisfied. Sleeping at last.

She sank further and further. Soon, she sensed something amiss. A dread started to build at the pit of her stomach. She knew what was going to happen.

She was still sinking. Literally. She could feel all her exhaustion leaving her as she sank into the peacefulness of sleep. The supposedly peacefulness. This time though, she knew she sank too far. All her senses started to leave her, leaving only her sub-conscience for company. She was awake. More than ever, but her body wasn't responding. She couldn't move. At all.

Her heart started racing as panick set in. She frantically tried to wake up. Struggling to open her eyes, but she could not. She knew she wasn't dreaming. She knew that she was in her room. She knew that it was 3 plus in the morning. Fear overwhelmed her. Wake up! she chided herself.

Perhaps she should just give in. So she relaxed. She felt as though she was sinking again. Further and further into the dark abyss. Then realisation dawned on her. She could not do that! She felt herself more and more detached from the world, the deeper she sank. What if she never ever woke up? Once again, the war against sleep was raged.

She felt like crying, felt like shouting out for help, but she knew she was like a piece of rock, not moving at all. With great effort, she tried to move, to wake up. It was futile. Her body just wouldn't respond.

At last! She moved, and her eyes flicked open. Her breaths came in puffs as she panted and breathed heavily. She glanced at the clock.
3:30 am.
She didn't want to sleep now, but she was exhausted. Tired. Scared. She had the sudden urge to run to her dad's room and snuggle up beside him. Nothing will happen to her there.

---------------

A sudden spasm of excrutiating pain shot up her leg and woke her from her sleep. Gosh! the pain was unbearable. She reached out and touched her calf. It only hurt even more when she touched it. She lay back against her bed, and told her legs to relax. Soon, the pain would be gone. Just bear with it for a little while, she told herself. It's nothing. Good thing it was only one leg this time. At least she could still move the other.

ARGH!!

Friday.
It's friday again.
No, wait.
It's saturday.
Yet another saturday.

---------------

Had an episode last night.
It's been months since the last episode.
Still can't believe she has not outgrown that.
She thought the problem was irradicated.
Seems not.

Drank 2 whole cartons of milk.
Someone said it would help make her sleep.
Well, seeing that she's still here, writing nonsensical ramblings, guess it was merely an old wive's tale.
Perhaps she'll get milk poisoning.

---------------

So many things happened this week.
Where should she start?
Perhaps, she should not write at all.
There's no point anyway.

Point? What point is there in writing a blog in the first place?
Yes, i see your meaning. You're telling me I've wasted precious minutes just typing this entry.
No. I'm digusted at your lack in discipline. Shouldn't you be studying?
Lack of discipline?! Have you any idea what I've been doing this past week?
Yes. Wasting your time in the library, that's what you've been doing.

[A short pause]

Yes, you're right. Wasted one whole week. Pathetic. I hate myself.
I know.
Please stop playing the devil's advocate. Just leave.
I can't leave.
Why not?
I'm you.
Oh, right. I forgot.

A common habit nowadays.
Staring into space, talking to herself.
Have no idea how that developed.
It just kicked in sub-consiously.

Yes, you should stop talking to yourself you know. It's not healthy.
Just shut up.
Okay.
Ri-right.

A hectic day.
Rushed from school to home, followed by orchard. Back home again, and then to City hall. Ending with another trip back home.
Had a really fun time today!! Enjoyed every moment of it. Still savouring every second, smiling non-stop. She simply loves August. It's the sweetest month amongst all the months she has to spend in school. Lovely!

--------------

"Dear passengers, the station is getting crowded. Would those that are not taking the train kindly leave the station. Thank you."

Upon arrival at the station, she was greeted by an un-welcoming message. A whole train-load of people flowed out of the train and up the escalators. Likewise, she followed. As she emerged from below, her jaw dropped, stunned at the crowd gathered at the station. There was a huge bottle neck at the barrier, causing a massive human jam. Just getting through the barrier took her a few minutes. Before she could get her bearings, she was pushed out of the station rudely by the growing crowd. The air was thick and super stuffy! Everyone was so close that they coud actually feel each other breathing down one another's neck!

10 minutes passed.
There was no sign of her friends
Not one of her friend has arrived yet.
It was hardly surprising looking at the size of the crowd. To locate her friend within this crowd was as good as looking for a needle in a haystack. It was hopeless. Thank goodness for one of the greatest invention on earth.
Handphone!!

And so they quickly made their way to the restaurant, fearing that there would be a long queue waiting from them. They went as fast as their feet could take them without breaking into a run. No one wanted to perspire before dinner, but that was hardly possible since most of them were forced to break into a sweat at the station. The air outside was so much cooler and fresher! Ah, the taste of fresh air was simply heavenly then.

After eating, they lingered at the restaurant and fiddled around with the camera. Dinner was fantastic! Yummy! Simply mouth-watering. The aroma drifting out of the restaurant was enough to send her tummy growling. Okay, maybe she was just hungry, but still, dinner was amazing.

Decided to treat her friends to Ben and Jerry's thereafter. The ice-creams there were delicious. One word. Awesome! Gracious, they were sweet! The variety of flavours there were not only unique, but also creative and of course, they were scrumptious. It is so unlike those you find along the streets. There was really a 'classy' edge to it. She highly recommends it! No harm eating it once. No hole will be burnt in your pocket. No worries!

Next up, they headed for Esplanade, hoping to take advantage of the scenic view there.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Fireworks thundered overhead as they left the buidling. They turned towards the sky and stared, awed-struck. It was beautiful! The vast array of colours were dazzling. There were even different pictures formed! Simply out of this world! The fireworks spread out over the entire sky, lighting up the entire place. The feeling is entirely different from seeing lightning although they produce the same effect. As the fireworks dispersed from one single point in the sky into numerous smaller lights, fanning out across the sky, shouts of 'wah' can be heard from the crowd.

'Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness!'

It was like glitter! Stunning! There they stood, oggling at the sky like some 3 year old kids who have never seen fireworks before in their entire life. It was hilarious! As the fireworks crackled into the sky, she could feel her heart thumping more vigorously as adrenaline coursed through her vein. Wicked!

Finally, after the fireworks ended, they arrived at the Esplanade. There were so many people there! Many of them were leaving the scene, having enjoyed the fireworks in first class seats. Security guards were there to ensure that people left in an orderly manner. It was really hard to walk against the crowd. Especially so when the crowd pushes and jostle. Nevertheless, they got to their destination in one piece. Phew!

"That was really people mountain, people sea!" (Direct translation of a chinese proverb: ren shan ren hai)

Played around with the camera again.
Giggling, smiling, laughing.
Doing what girls do best: Talk.
Just relaxing out in the open, breathing in the night air as the stars shine upon them.
Feeling ever so carefree just for that moment.
Bathing in the bliss of contentment and happiness.
Priceless.

---------------

"There is this group of people standing in front of me, making a hell of a noise and the people here just bloody refuse to move! I can't even get out of this stupid train," came a voice from her right.

The train was indeed packed. There was hardly space for movements.

"..secondary school kids. Super irritating," continued the voice, before rattling off in malay.

"..I can even smell the people here. This is how close I am to them. This is so frustrating and the people in front of me are annoying the hell out of me.." went the voice.

It was so obvious that the voice was commenting about her friends and her. Who else is standing in front of that person but them? How unreasonable can that person get? It is not their fault that the train is crowded. It is also hardly their fault that the train is noisy! They were not even making much noise since they were more into looking at the pictures in the camera. That person is totally unreasonable! Atrocious, i tell you!

"..No, they can't hear me. I don't think so.."

Yeah, right.

---------------

Feeling like the happiest girl on earth!!
Nothing can ruin her mood for now.
Absolutely nothing!
Happy, happy, happy!!

And I think to myself,

"I wish The Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had ever happened."

"So do all who live to face such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is give to us."

---------------

After one week of dwelling in self-pity, self-denial, and self-hatred, she has finally decided to whipped herself out of her disgusting and detestable state.
No more crying.
No more complaining.
Just push everything to the back of the mind.
Keep it hidden.
Keep it safe.
Let no one falter upon it.
Let no one hear it.
It shall remain a secret.
To be lost forever, from the sights and sounds of mankind.

Studying is a joy.
Memorising isn't.
Is memorising a subset of studying or is it the other way round?
Love studying.
Don't quite like memorising.
Then again, if one doesn't memorise, how can one be certain if he or she gained any knowledge at all?

---------------

Less than 40 days to the preliminary battles.
So many things to do.
Boots to polish, blades to mould.
Armours to be made, stamina to be build.
Courage to be forged, weaknesses to be eliminated.
All in less that 40 days.
Work as a team, work as one.
United they stand, divided they fall.
Against all odds, they shall triumph.
They shall rise against the tide, conquer all evil, and when the final moment arrives, they shall emerge as champions.

"Who can say
Where the road goes,
Where the day flows,
Only time."

-Only Time-

---------------

The light glistened off the water droplets as the raindrops fell gently onto her cheeks, before trickling down her face and onto the track. She threw her head back, and admired the sky as her feet continued on, plodding nearer and nearer towards the finishing line. What a picturesque view! The rain pelting down from above with seams of light filtering through the occasional dark clouds. Rain and sunshine, all at one go. How nice.

Huff and Puff.
Huff and Puff.

"Come on, everyone! Let's sing a song as we run," her friend up ahead shouted, propelling everyone to push on, lifting the dampened spirits of the group.

"Twinkle, twinkle, little stars..."

Soon, everyone broke out into a chorus and were singing as though nothing else mattered. As though all their sorrows were washed away as they seeked solace in their run. Their footsteps became lighter and faster. She glanced towards her friends and laughed. Fancy the group of them running in the rain, with everyone else throwing curious glances as them. She simple love her friends! How blessed can one be?

---------------

Happy Birthday Ellie!
Happy, Happy day!!
Celebrated her friend's birthday at Orchard!

Time passes so fast.
18 years.
Flew past just like that.

Anyhow, sat down somewhere and they ate while she watched. The overwhelming aroma of their delicacies was enough to send her drooling, but it's okay. She's going to eat later, and besides, she cannot afford to eat anything. Went on to talk about some weird stuffs. Pretty hilarious. They pratically sent her into stitches! What funny friends. Too engrossed in their discussion, she nearly lost track of time! Thank goodness she had the sense to sneek a peek at a passer-by's watch.

Rushed off to meet him for dinner.
Spent her last few dollars on dinner there.
Had a splendid time, once again. Who can complain?
Love her life!

He looked sick.

---------------

"Everyone, look here!" her friend called out from below as she flipped out her handphone and started snapping away.

"Huh? Where's the big camera?" another friend remarked at the ludicrous situation they were in. They had waited for 15 minutes, but there still no sign of the photographer. What to do? They took things into their own hands, and decided to amuse themselves.

Snap!
Snap!

"Please, please, let us pose in front of the statue, we already have a camera man with us! It'll just take 5 minutes!" Mrs Chua pleaded with another teacher as the class gathered around her.

"But we have already took our positions!"

"Please! It's only 5 minutes! It won't take long!"

With much reluctance, the other teacher finally relented. Quickly, her class zoomed into the location and quickly took their positions, pointing at their teacher proudly as they beamed with delight.

Photo-taking was a blast!
Mrs Chua is truely the best teacher on earth!

---------------

"Clara, are you alright?"

She did not reply. Her friend's voice seemed to have faded into the backgroud as she stared at the message.

"Eh, something happened is it? Why do you look so stunned," her friend said again, nudging her slightly, shaking her out of her daze.

"Wha- what? Oh, no. Nothing. It's nothing," she said with a smile and picked up her bag.

"Come on, let's go. Everyone's leaving," she said, gesturing towards the exit.

She can't believe she actually let her guard down like that! Never, never, never again will she be so transparent. What a stupid thing to do!

Smile, smile, smile.
Stay, happy, happy, happy!
Which isn't that hard considering how beautiful life is.
Life is great!

The message?
Only 3 words.
I am sick.

When the night sleeps,
If the night keeps,
All your heart."
